About
The Room Isn’t Empty Anymore: Book One
Horror does not always arrive looking like horror.
Sometimes it waits in a room that should be empty. Sometimes it follows you home from the woods, wears the face of someone you lost, offers exactly what you asked for, or speaks through a memory you were certain belonged to you.
And sometimes there is nothing supernatural about it at all.
The Room Isn’t Empty Anymore: Book One is a collection of seventeen stories from Robert Dutch exploring the places where psychological and supernatural horror collide with grief, memory, love, trauma, identity, and loss.
Inside are impossible rooms, altered memories, things waiting in the wilderness, technology capable of giving people what they thought they wanted, a dog willing to stand between his family and something he cannot understand, and ordinary people discovering that the impossible thing may not be the most frightening thing in the room.
Some of these stories will frighten you. Some will hurt. Some may leave you wondering exactly what happened long after the final page.
Because some stories end.
Others stay with you.
